Nuwakot, Sept 21: ‘Nuwakot Dashain Festival-2071 BS’ kicked off in Trishuli, Nuwakot today.
Festival is run for eight days which is organized by Trishuli Youth Sports Club, a local social club, on the outset of the biggest festival in Nepal-Dashain. It is believed to be the biggest festival in the district, according to Raju Shrestha, the coordinator of organizing committee.
Minister for Energy, Radha Gyawali, inaugurated the fair which has 125 pavilions stalled aiming to attract thousands of people not only from Nuwakot but also from the neighboring districts, Rasuwa and Dhading, Shrestha said.
The organizing committee believed that visitors at the fair will avail one-stop solution for shopping in view with the upcoming biggest festival in the country as the stalls have foods, clothes, handicrafts and livestock as goat, chicken, fish among others are the major attraction.
The various cultural and musical shows that will be organized throughout the fair are expected to add extra edge to the festivity on the eve of dashain festival.
