ORGANIC COFFEE FLOURISHING IN LALITPUR

Chapagaun, Lalitpur, May 13: Coffee farming is flourishing commercially in southern part of Lalitpur district including in Thuladurlung, Ashrang, Gimdi, Pyutar, and Chandanpur.

The farming started three decades ago is commercially growing since 2061 BS. The villages are 55 kms away from Lagankhel of Lalitpur at an altitude of 1600 metres above sea level.

The Pakamara and Tekasi variety of organic coffee is good here, said Dolaraj Adhikari of Thuladurlung-4.Coffee produced in Lalitpur has been proved best from Nepal by Japan, said Adhikari who is also the Assistant secretary of the Nepal Coffee Cooperatives.

It is cultivated in 80 hectares of land and Rs. 15 million is earned from it annually in Lalitpur, he said
