Beni (Myagdi), Aug. 6: The residents of Bagarphanta in Beni municipality-4 of Myagdi district have been forced to stay up throughout the night due to the continuous landslides in the hills just above their village.
Landslip has been taking place regularly for the past three days following incessant rainfall in the area.
Landslide has been taking place creating a large sound every night, keeping us awake throughout, says Lokendra Ghimire of Bagarphanta.
The Bagarphanta village is located between the hills above and the Myagdi river below, leaving it very vulnerable to being caught in a natural disaster.
Continuous rainfall has created a crack in the land at Jhakristhan of Torakhet and landslip is taking place from thereon, said local resident Tek Bahadur Malla.
Landslide continued as of 5:00 am this morning and is likely to cause damage to the Bagarphanta community forest and the Beni drinking water project, added Malla.
