Kathmandu: Paragliding is one of the most popular adventure activities in the country. Recently, the attractiveness of adventure tourism in the country has increased steadily and the number of adventure activities has increased. Mostly the paragliding is famous in Pokhara.
However, in recent years the private sector has also been investing in paragliding services in the Kathmandu Valley.
The Nepal Civil Aviation Authority (CAAN) has permits for two new paragliding zones near Kathmandu Valley. The new destinations services will be located in Suryachaur and Tistung.
According to CAAN, Nepal Paragliding has obtained permission to operate paragliding at Suryachaur. The company will operate paragliding services covering Suryachaur, Shivpuri and Nuwakot areas and has obtained permission to operate paragliding flights at altitudes up to 6,500 metres.
Similarly, the Tistung Paragliding has also received a permit from CAAN to operate paragliding services from Tistung in Makawanpur and has obtained permission to operate paragliding flights at altitudes up to 5,000 metres. The companies can begin their operation after February 27.
According to the private sector, paragliding near Kathmandu saves time for anyone who wants to take on an adventure.
Earlier, the paragliding services were operating from Godavari and Shankarapur in Kathmandu. Meanwhile, CAAN has recently issued the permission for two such zones at Khandbari in Sankhuwasabha district. Gradually the adventure game is spreading all over the country.
