Paragliding pre-world cup to take place in Pokhara from February 27

Pokhara (Kaski), February 18, 2016: Paragliding Pre-World Cup is scheduled to take place from February 27 in Pokhara.

According to NASA chairman Sovit Baniya, the week-long competition aims at promoting tourism through entertaining and adventure sports, organised by the Nepal Air Sports Association (NASA), Pokhara.

This message was conveyed by him at a press conference in Pokhara today.

A total 150 paragliding pilots from various 35 countries including Nepal will partake in the competition, said Baniya.

The participant pilots will fly from Sarangkot of Pokhara and land on the shore of the Phewa Lake.

The competition which is funded by the NASA, Nepal Tourism Board and the participants, is estimated to cost around Rs 5.68 million.

According to the programme coordinator Krishna Prasad Bhandari the winners will also be given away prizes.
