‘Pashupati Prasad’ prevails at NEFTA Film Awards 2016 (with complete list of winners)

Kathmandu, December 24, 2016: Pashupati Prasad has bagged the best film award at the 9th NEFTA Film Awards held in Dubai, UAE on Friday.

Actor Dayahang Rai grabbed best actor award on the annual film awards ceremony, whereas Namrata Shrestha grabbed best actress honor.

Similarly, Paul Shah (Nai Navannu la 4) and Samragyee Rajya Laxmi Shah (Dreams) were felicitated with the best debut actor and actress award respectively.

Ram Babu Gurung took away the best story award for his movie Kabaddi Kabaddi.

Dipashree Niraula, the producer of Chakka Panja was awarded with the encouragement award.

Meanwhile, Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus) and Kunjana Gimire (Suntali) were honored with special mention award.

The celebration also saw cultural performances by superstar Rajesh Hamal, Karishma Manandhar, Malina Joshi, and Nazir Hussein, among others.

The event was hosted in Dubai for the development of Nepali cinema in international market, said NEFTA Chairman Puskar Lama.
