Kathmandu, January 13, 2019: Leisure Port Nepal Pvt. Ltd, under the aegis of United Sisters Foundation is going to organize the Pinkathon Kathmandu on February 3, 2019. The event has categorized marathon into 4 categories; 21km, 10km, 5km and 3km. The main motive of this program is to raise awareness and encourage women to adopt active lifestyle. Top 3 winners in 21km race are going to get Rs 51,000, Rs 31,000 and 21,000 respectively. As per the information provided by the organizer, more than 5,000 participants is expected to participate in the event this year. Similarly, in 10km race, top three winners will be provided Rs 31,000, Rs 21,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively. While the 5km winner will be awarded Rs 11,000. If the athletes break the national record, they will get Rs 1,000 in second position. The organizers are yet to decide the venue for the event.
Pinkathon is a very popular event which is celebrated every year in 8 cities of India. Nepal has been adopting this event since past 3 years. United sisters have provided leisure port by taking responsibility of organizing the race in Nepal. Founder of Pinkathon and Indian actor, Milind Soman wants women to be part of the race as he said, ‘ It’s not only a race and it’s more than women empowerment and more than women health. Women should be encouraged to take up some Physical activities, be it running, yoga or aerobics.”
