PM Koirala Holds Talks With TMLP Chair Thakur

Kathmandu, April 6, 2015: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Chairman of the Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP) Mahantha Thakur held a meeting on Monday evening. During the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar, they discussed matters regarding the constitution writing process.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Koirala stressed on the need of moving ahead through unity, reconciliation and collaboration. Thakur, on the behalf of the 30-Party Alliance, urged the PM to move ahead through consensus.

Thakur said, “I told Prime Minister Koirala that a trust worthy environment has not been built yet. So the new constitution cannot be promulgated through consensus until the demands of the Alliance are guaranteed.”

Thakur told RSS that no conclusion was drawn from the meeting.
