PM Koirala mourns death of 20 people in Doti bus accident

     Kathmandu, Oct 7: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has expressed deep sorrow over the death of 29 people in a bus accident occurred at Katkate of Chhattiwan VDC-5 in Doti district on Monday afternoon.

 

In a condolence message today, the PM has extended heartfelt tributes to those killed in the accident and wished for speedy recovery of the injured. “In these sad hours, I pledge organisational efforts to improve weaknesses in traffic management and minimize the damages of road accidents in the days ahead,” he said in the message.

 

He has also assured that the government will initiate necessary steps towards minimizing the road accidents by upgrading the roads already constructed as per the demand of the local people and need making them scientific, keeping regular watch on the condition of the vehicles and mobilising the bodies concerned in regularly checking the carrying capacity of vehicles and the weight of the luggage of the passengers.

 

 

Extending condolences to the families and the relatives of the people who lost their lives to the accident, the Prime Minister prayed that may the almighty give all the concerned the power of forbearance at this hour of grief.
