PM Koirala Says New Constitution Will Unite All People And Religions

Kathmandu, July 14: The new constitution would unite people from different communities and religions, said Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at a programme organised by the Bhanu Foundation on the occasion of the 202nd birth anniversary of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya today.

Prime Minister Koirala said that Bhanubhakta’s contribution to linguistic and cultural unity through the medium of literary creation was inspirational. He added that Bhanubhakta was a poet who wrote on social themes and always gave priority to social unity and harmony in his creations

Also for the unity of Nepali one ropani land to the Foundation for the construction of its building was committed by PM koirala which the Foundation has been demanding as a respect of contribution of Adikavi.

On Behalf of the Foundation,offering shawl and letter of appreciation PM Koirala honored literateur duo– Chudamani Regmi and Tejeshwor Babu Gong for their remarkable contribution to the Nepali language and culture. Similarly, a chariot procession in honour of Regmi and Gong was organized by the organization which went through different parts of the city.

Moreover, task regarding construction of a statue of Bhanubhakta has been forwarded at different parts in and out of the country to make the Bhanubhakta’s contribution immortal, Foundation Chairman Prof Dr Brataraj Acharya said. Further he added that different programmes has been organized including a morning rally on the occasion of Bhanu Jayanti since 2033 BS.

The Foundation has been continuously engaged to making the contribution of Bhanubhakta immortal and to the development of Nepali literature, General Secretary at the Foundation, DP Aryal stated.

Bhanubhakat’s vision of the nation expressed through his literary creations at that time are still significant in the present, said Rastrakavi Madhav Prasad Ghimire. He also expressed the belief that nation will be welfare since the new constitution is going to be promulgated soon.

The government should give priority for the overall development of Nepali literature , Litterateur Gong said.

Likewise, on the occasion Chancellor at the Nepal Academy, Ganga Prasad Upreti, said that Bhanubhakta’s contribution to linguistic and cultural unity and Prithvi Narayan Shah’s contribution to geographical and political unity was important. He pointed up the need that Public holiday should be given on Bhanu Jayanti and Prithvi Jayanti. But the trend of awarding holiday on these occasions was obstructed due to ongoing transition of the country.

Similarly, in the program organized by the foundation, litterateurs– Nabaraj Lamsal, Bunu Lamichhane, Dibas Thakuri, among others recited Bhanubhakta’s poems and schools participated in the morning rally were honored.
