PM Koirala, UCPN (MAOIST) Chair Dahal Discuss Setting Disputes On Constitution Writing

Kathmandu, Dec 27,2014: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a discussion at the former’s official residence at Baluwatar today.

The discussion was centered on forging consensus on the disputed issues of a new constitution in view of the fast approaching deadline of January 22 to promulgate the constitution

Similarly, a meeting of a taskforce formed to forge consensus on the disputed issues of the constitution is going on at Baluwatar now.

The major political parties had formed the taskforce on November 26 giving the deadline till Sunday.

During a meeting with the professionals from various sectors this morning, Chairman Dahal had said the taskforce would narrow down the difference and create an atmosphere conducive for the consensus.

Similarly, a source from Baluwatar said the leaders from both parties discussed on making the taskforce more effective.

Lately, PM Koirala is actively holding discussions with the parties to minimize the difference among the parties and settle disputed issues of the constitution.

A meeting of the taskforce, formed to forge consensus on the disputed issues of the constitution, is taking place at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar.

Discussions are on how to finalize the disputed issues as the taskforce is terminating tomorrow, it is learnt.

One representative each from the ruling Nepali Congress, and CPN (UML), and the opposition UCPN (Maoist) and Madhesi Morcha are in the taskforce, which was assigned to prepare a report of consensus.
