Kathmandu, Oct 8: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal today called on Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at the Prime Minister’s official residence Baluwatar.
During the meeting, matters relating to contentious issues in the constitution-drafting such as form of governance, restructuring of the state, judiciary, electoral system and resuming the obstructed Legislature-Parliament were discussed. The meeting lasted for around an hour.
On the occasion, PM Koirala stressed the need of further cooperation and consensus among the political parties to draft a new constitution within coming January 22, adding that consensus-based constitution was his priority, according to PM’s press advisor Prakash Adhikari.
Stating that the prolonged House obstruction would cause offence to the people, the PM urged the opposition party leader to help resume the parliament procedures.
Similarly, leader Dahal requested the PM to ensure the enforcement of the agreement on the formation of a High Level Political Committee, Dahal’s aide Shiva Khakurel said.
