PM Observes Taleju Bhawani


Kathmandu, February 18, 2016: The Taleju Bhawani Temple in Basantapur, Kathmandu has been observed by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli this morning.

Prime Minister Oli went around the temple located at Hanumandhoka Durbar Square, also scheduled in the the world heritage list. The Prime Minister on the occasion also inquired about the post-earthquake status of the temple.

During the first phase of the maintenance of the temple the Prime Minister has promised to grant Rs 500,000.temple

Due to the effect of the April 25 earthquake the temple saw small cracks and roof leaking water. The locals had demanded the government for the construction of the roof of the temple.

Since before, the temple has been worshipped as a favorite deity of Malla Kings. The temple is open for the public during Nawami, once a day in a year.
