Kathmandu ,25 November  2015: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the international community to help resolve the problems facing Nepal as a result of the undeclared blockade. Addressing an event hosted by the United Nations and various organisations to mark the Global Evaluation Week here on Wednesday, Prime Minister Oli said Nepal has been deprived of its rights as a landlocked country, and the people are suffering from essentials like petroleum products and medicines.
Stating that new constitution was drafted by more than 92 per cent majority, PM Oli said the statute guarantees the rights of all class, community, region and gender. “33 per cent reservation has been ensured for women in every state organ and 45 per cent for the backward communities”, he said.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also appealed to the delegates to read the English version of the new constitution of Nepal, which, he claimed has guaranteed democratic norms and values, and people’s rights.
Stating that some problems have been created in the southern border of the country by misinterpreting the constitution, PM Oli said the present government was ready to fulfill any shortcomings in it.
At the programme, Minister for Information and Communication Technology Sherdhan Rai and Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ananda Raj Pokharel released a book titled ‘Evaluation In the Extreme’.
Speaking from the chair of the programme, President of Community of Evaluators of South Asia Chair Mallika Samaranayake said the programme was organized with the objective of assessing the development taking place in various countries in the field of health, education, energy, environment, social accountability and skills development.
