Kathmandu,25 Nov 2014: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has expressed his full commitment to the elimination of all kinds of violence against women existing in the country.

In a message of best wishes sent to the ’16-day Campaign against gender-based discriminations’ launched from today, the PM has said his government was effortful to end women violence with full commitment.

He pledged his full support to the Campaign launched for justice.

The Campaign kicked off today with the theme of “From peace in the home to peace in the world: let’s challenge militarism and end violence against women”.

In the message, the PM stated that the state is always conscious about its responsibility of promoting people freedom, equality, discipline and justice. But citizens’ support and cooperation is necessary to state’s efforts for building women-friendly society with ending all sorts of discriminations against them, he added.  Removal of hurdles for women empowerment and strengthen be started from the family and society.

He has further stressed the need of collective efforts among the people, society, government and non-government organisations to end various forms of violence against women like torture in the name of dowry, rape, murder and beating.
