Chitwan, Sept 12: Minister for Finance Dr Ram Sharan Mahat has said the government is committed to facilitating the constitution drafting process to complete it within the stipulated timeframe.
Taking part in an interaction programme organised by Nepal Press Union Chitwan at Bharatpur today, he said Prime Minister Sushil Koirala was serious towards drafting of an inclusive constitution on the announced date. He accused the UCPN (Maoist) of intending to derail the statute-writing on unnecessary pretexts.
The Finance Minister and Constituent Assembly (CA) member Mahat further stressed that it was not necessary for political parties to make disputes about the date of all-party assembly.
It could be held at any appropriate time, he added. All issues concerning federalism will not be included in new constitution at once, some issues will be incorporated gradually.
The Finance Minister shared that all ministries have got authority to spend the budget the day after the announcement of budget for the current fiscal year and stressed that they (ministries) should release the budget to subordinate bodies on time. On a different note, he promised to provide soft loan that government is going to allocate to agro sector to new hatcheries as well.
