New York, September 26:Â On Saturday Morning, Prime Minister Sushil koirala will address the 69th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
PM Koirala will be speaking as the 14th speaker addressing the subjects like climate change, population management and development, expansion of security council members,poverty eradication as well as issues related to least developed and landlocked countries.
The meeting at the UN was commenced on September 24 which is to be continued till October 7. The PM has addressed a summit on climate change held on the sidelines of the 69th UNGA.
After the membership in 1955, Nepal has been participating in the UNGA regularly. PM BP Koirala was the first Prime Minister to address the UN General Assembly in 1960. PM Sushil koirala is the 9th Prime Minister to address UNGA.
Nepali King Mahendra Shah had addressed 22nd UNGA in 1967.
Along with the Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, Foreign Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, PM’s Foreign Relations Advisor Dr. Dinesh Bhattari, advisor Mridula Koirala, PM’s Chief Personal Secretary Basanta Kumar Gautam and Press Coordinator Prakash Adhikari are also participating in UNGA.
