Kathmandu, January 29, 2017: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the dreams and the contributions of the martyrs would always be inspirational towards institutionalization of the federal democratic republic and making the country prosperous through the implementation of the constitution.
In a message given on the occasion of the Martyrs Day today, PM Prachanda noted that the contribution of the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives in course of the different struggles and people’s movements on the side of the country’s freedom would always be remembered.
“On this day of Magh 16 I offer my heartfelt tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their life for the sake of the self-dignity and freedom of all the Nepalis,” the PM stated in the message.
Stating that the contribution of the martyrs is high to bring Nepal to the present situation and in the establishment of the freedom that we are now enjoying, PM Dahal said whatever achievements Nepal has made through the various struggles before the start of the Rana period, the phase-wise movement against the Rana regime, the change of 2007 BS, the First and Second People’s Movement, 10-year-long People’s War and Madhes Movement, among others, have been possible only because of the struggle and the sacrifices of the great martyrs.
The Prime Minister also wished that may this Day inspire us all to work together and move ahead towards a prosperous future together with peace and development making the most of the national unity by further strengthening it so that all the Nepalis can feel ownership over it.
