Kathmandu, 26 December, 2017: Office of the Controller of the Examination, Pokhara University organized, ‘Workshop on Examination & Evaluation System of Pokhara University’ on 25 December, 2017 to discuss the ongoing advances in the university’s examination system.
The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, senior professors as well as principals, Managing Directors, professors from the reputed business schools were present in the program. From sharing insights of the university’s present progress to the visions for the future days of the university, various speakers stressed the reforms and further improvements required to enhance the examination and evaluation system.
The conference had various recognized education advisers and guests from Management Subject Committee of Pokhara University, Tribhuvan University, Apex College, Ace Institute of Management and Uniglobe College. Associate Administrator of the university, DhurbaAryal, inaugurated the event by introducing the guests of the program.
Er. Prakash B. Adhikari, Deputy Controller of Examinations, delivered the welcome speech in the event. He congratulated the progress brought by the Pokhara University on its result publication as well as Prof. Hari B. Khadka, the Dean of the university, Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Prem Raj Pant, Dr. Bharat Ram Dhungana, Controller of Examination delivered the speech in the event.
The first session of the workshop conversed about the general issues on examinations. The chair of the session was Chairman of Management Subject Committee, Dr. Prem Raj Panta, Dr. Bharat Ram Dhungana, Controller of Examinations, Mr. LP Bhanu Sharma, Principal of Apex College, Dr. Nara B. Bista, Principal of Uniglobe College.
Dr. Bharat Ram Dhungana mentioned, “Colleges affiliated to Pokhara University have been progressing in terms of their results. But we are lacking behind the solutions of issues and promulgation of the solutions to enhance our students’ problems regarding the examination. We believe this new draft of paperwork regarding the rules of examining the papers will help us further.”
The second session of the conference discussed about the question settings and moderation issues ongoing on the university. The chair of the session was Prof. Dr. RadheShyam Pradhan, Tribhuvan University and paper presenters were Kishore Dhunganaand Navin Kumar Jha from Apex College. Similarly, Prof. Dr. Rajan B. Paudel, Member of the Management Subject Committee and Ashish Tiwari, Principal of Ace Institute of Management were the commentators for this session. In this session, every speaker stressed about the uniformity required in the question setting by the management committee of the university.
The final session of the event comprised talks of Answer sheet evaluation and Scrutinizing Issue. Various academic advisors of the university and associates professors commented on the requirement in the betterment of evaluation system.
Each session provided an open floor discussion to facilitate the teachers, professors, educators and reporters to opine their queries and views regarding the workshop.
