Power Supply Obstructed Due To Heavy Winds In Khotang

Khotang, May 28, 2015: After electric poles were uprooted by heavy winds the power supply in the district remains obstructed since the past five days.

Nepal Electricity Authority, Khotang said that total of 33 poles in the Diktel-Ghaighat 11 KV and 33 KV power transmission lines were uprooted in the incident. Therefore due to that damage daily life of media persons and industrialists has been severely affected.

Chief of NEA Khotang Purusottam Regmi said that works are on to replace the poles and power supply is expected to resume soon. Also, DSP of Khotang Binod Raj Kharel said that the heavy winds along with rain has caused extensive damage to the district, though no human casualty was reported and the details of the total damage caused is yet to be collected.
