Dolpa, Aug. 19: Power supply has been closed at five VDCs in Dolpa district from today for three months.

The power supply has been closed after floods on Jairigad rivulet swept away around 100 meters dam of the Jairigad Hydropower Project, Dunai.

With this, around 6,000 families of Raha, Sun, Dunai, Jufal and Sahartara VDCs have been hit hard.

According to the Nepal Electricity Authority, the power supply would be resumed regularly after three month as repair and maintenance work of the damaged dam was underway.

Activities of different government offices and other organisations in the district have been affected as people complained that they have been deprived of listening news, watching television, charging mobile set and using internet and email services.
