Kathmandu, Oct 12: The government has brought a plan to make the import and distribution of petroleum products smooth, well-managed and effective. Minister for Commerce and Supplies Sunil Bahadur Thapa said preparations have been made to privatise the petroleum import and distribution so as to make it competitive. The Minister for Commerce and Supplies said so while addressing a programme organised by Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) marking the 62nd Chamber Day here at the Chamber Building at Kantipath on Sunday.

Stating that the process of petroleum products has been auto-prised following efforts of long time, he said this decision was an example that a decision of this sort could be made provided there is willpower for it. He said the government’s job is not to run a business or carry out trade but only to facilitate, urging the business community to promote export-oriented trade.
