Ilam,3 Nov 2014: The District Agriculture Development Office, Ilam, has awarded three farmers with the President Best Farmer Award.
The awarded farmers are Taramani Khatiwada of Sulubung-5, Tek Bahadur Rai of Suryodaya Municipality-5 and Madan Kumar Rai of Suryodaya Municipality-1.
Each farmer was awarded with Rs 10,000 and a letter of appreciation.
Khatiwada is involved in commercial kiwi farming for the past five years. Tek Bahadur has been involved in commercial pig keeping and Madan Bahadur in commercial vegetable farming.
The award was announced on the occasion of the World Food Day. The Day is marked on October 16.
