Kathmandu, Dec 26: The national women’s volleyball team which clinched silver medal in recent 1st South Asian Woman Invitational Volleyball Tournament today met with President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the Shitwal Niwas.
During the meeting, President Yadav congratulated the team while pledging to direct the government to work for the development of the sport, said Jitendra Chand, General Secretary, Nepal Volleball Association.
On the occasion, the team’s captain Binita Budhathoki underscored the importance of the success achieved by the players despite their lack of experience in the international competition. She stressed on the need for the concerned authority to held develop the sport.
Nepal had won silver medal in the tournament held from December 19 to 23 at the National Sports Council Covered Hall in Tripureshwor.
