Kathmandu, Oct 28: UCPN (Maoist) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the victory of woman in today’s presidential election has truly established inclusive proportional value.
Talking to journalists following the presidential election, Chairperson Dahal noted that the political development of election of a woman to the post of Speaker some days ago is testimony that the constitution will guarantee due recognition and representation of all oppressed groups and communities.
The presidential election has embarked on the process of the implementation of a new constitution, he said, adding that they are seriously working to address the demands of Madhes community. “All Madhesi people are Nepali people. An exciting environment should be made by addressing their demands”, he added.
Chairperson Dahal recalled that he and his party had continuously collaborated with the Nepali Congress in the tough time of earthquake and constitution-making process. “The consensus government should have been formed this time with NC involvement. I had made efforts to the final moment. The failure to that end is unfortunate”. He expressed the confidence that the NC would move ahead with consensus in addressing national problems.
