Jajarkot, October 6: Production of maize crop has increased in north eastern part of Jajarkot district this year. The production increased by 20 percent as compared to last year, said the District Agriculture Development Office.
Production increased in half a dozen VDCs including Dandagaun, Lahan, Sakla and Khagenkot, farmers said. Farmers are happy with the increased production. If there is good harvest, they can sustain for six months a year and have to purchase foodgrains in other months, said Hari Bahadur Khatri of Khagenkot.
Jajarkot lacks irrigation in 60 percent of land as per the record of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Sub-Division Office.
