Kavre,31 Jan 2015: Ambassadors to Nepal from different countries have stressed that there was a huge potential that the promotion of village tourism could boost the Nepal’s economy.
Inaugurating the Balthali Eco Hill Resort at Balthali of Kavre district on Saturday, Russian Ambassador to Nepal, Sergey Velichkin said he would make efforts to popularize Nepal’s cultural and natural beauty in his country.
Similarly, European Union’s Ambassador to Nepal, Renjse Teehrink, said foreign tourists could be attracted to Nepal once the access to energy and sanitation services were expanded.
Sri Lankan Ambassador to Nepal, WM Senevirathna, said Sri Lanka had great respect to the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha.
Village Tourism Promotion Forum’s Chairman Chandra Bahadur Gurung said the VTOPF was planning to explore new destinations in the country.
The resort was made with the joint initiative of nine tourism entrepreneurs with the investment of Rs 30 million. More than 40 tourists can have lodging and food facility at a time in the resort.
It is located only 42 km away from the capital city.
