Birgunj: The federal government is spending Rs 3 billion on developing a 23-km track in Parsa district. With three-link lines, the government is in the process of constructing an electric railway line of 10033.8 km long on the east-west highway in 10 different phases.
The contractors who won the bids from package 1 to 5 have agreed to complete all task within two and a half years. As part of the agreement, the contractors have also undertaken the rapid construction of the bridge.

A total of six bridges would be constructed along the route in Rautahat. Similarly, the Division Forest Office, Chandrapur, has written to the Department of Forest seeking its approval for cutting the trees along the Bagmati – Dhansar section in the district for the railway route construction.
