Beni (Myagdi), 19 October 2014: Incessant rainfall coupled by storm since Monday has damaged paddy crop worth one million rupees in various parts of Myagdi.
Beni municipality ward nos-1 and 2, Jyamrukkot, Bagarphant, Bhkimli, Arman, Takam VDCs were the most affected.
Narayan Sharma, Dil Bahadur Thapa, Chetra Bahadur Thapa of Jyamrukkot, Nilkantha Kandel of Arman and Jit Bahadur Karki of Bagarphant were some of the sufferers.
“We had just harvested the paddy, which was damaged completely by the heavy downpour since Monday evening”, said Narayan Sharma of Bimirabot.
The District Agriculture Development Office, Myagdi however has said that the details of the damage incurred as a result of the rainfall and storm is yet to be collected.
