Surunga (Jhapa), 18 October 2014: Police today have arrested Ram Krishna Gautam, a resident of Jhalthal-9 in Jhapa, for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl.
According to the District Police Office, alleged Gautam, 46, attempted rape the neighbor girl at his own residence on Thursday.
The incident took place when the parents of the victims, who are learned to be laborer, were at work, said the police.
Mukunda Acharya, Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Jhapa, said Gautam was arrested after the victims’s parents, who are handicapped, filed petition at the Office with the support of neighbours.
