District Child Network Sankhuwasabha creates history by releasing the music album from their own effort and contribution
Khandbari (Sankhuwasabha), July 17, 2017: For the first time in Nepal, a children’s music album has been released from the effort and contribution of children themselves.
The music album titled ‘Paaila Safaltako’ (English translation: ‘Steps of Success’), was released amidst a special ceremony held on Sunday at the auditorium of District Coordination Committee, Sankhuwasabha.
The album has brought young talents ahead along with promoting Child-Friendly Local Governance (CFLG).
Releasing of this music album will change our society’s angle to look at children, participants attending the release ceremony said. It is also a step towards the mission of child-friendly Nepal, a just society having a meaningful participation of children in plans and policies of government, they added.
Chief Guest of the ceremony Bipana Sharma, who is also the Glocal Teen Hero 2015, said, “A history has been created with the release of the music album. It’s really a praiseworthy work. I am highly encouraged seeing this work of the children in Sankhuwasabha.”
Khewahang Mewahang, President of District Child Club Co-Ordination Committee, Sankhuwasabha, said that releasing of the music album can be taken as one major steps of success of children. “It shows how capable our children are,” he said. He also expressed confidence that the music album will help promote child rights.
The songs in the album speak the voice of roles to be played by general citizens for Child-Friendly Local Governance.
The album includes a total of 6 songs, ‘Nepal Ki Chhori Ma’, ‘Suna suna Nepali’, ‘Saana saana nani’, ‘Balak Hami’, ‘Chhamma Nachera Bitauchhu’, and ‘Kun bela aakashma. Kinjan Adhikari(12), Navin Shankar(13), Uttam Kumar Tamang(12), Sujita Pokharel(14), Unique Kulung(12), and Nawaraj Kulung(16) have given voices to these songs.
Dipan Kumar Shrestha, Sujan Adhikari, Medini Ghimire, Surendra Mahat and Nabin Dahal had penned lyrics for the album.
The album release ceremony was graced by Shivaraj Joshi, Chief District Officer of Sankhuwasabha district, Murari Prasad Khatiwada, Mayor of Khandbari Municipality, Degeshwori Shrestha, Vice-Mayor of the same municipality, representatives from child clubs from various districts and many other special guests.
