Gaighat (Udayapur),7 Nov 2014: Police have rescued 10 children, belonging to the remote places of Udayapur district, who were being trafficked to Kathmandu.

Area Police Office, Katari, today assumed control of the children, mostly below 14 years, along with their two agents who were taking them to the capital for various works.

The rescued kids have been handed over to their parents and guardians, informed the Deputy Superintendent of Police at Katari, Saroj Poudel.

This way, hundreds of children from the remote parts of this district are trafficked to the capital every year, often luring them into jobs at hotels and brick kilns the capital and jobs in circus in India, the District Child Welfare Board, Udayapur stated.
