Kathmandu, August 28, 2018: Revive, founded by Pushpa Sthapit and Rajan Chakradhar, triumphs the third National Business Challenge 2018 with their inventive presentation on reusable products processed by recycling, upcycling or reusing the used clothes. The competition was organized by Yunus Social Business Center (YSBC) Nepal on Sunday at Hotel Yak and Yeti ,where 10 teams form the 55 teams were chosen as the finalist . The winning team of Revive received the total amount of Rs 100,000 as the winning cash prize.
Similarly, Whpedia secured the ‘Jury’s Special’ award with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 whereas Hariyo Paat Sabaiko Saath grabbed Rs 50,000 under the theme ‘Food and Women’.Waste Recyclers’ Renewable energy and Your Agricultural Product’s ‘Sustainable Agriculture’ also won Rs 40,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively .
The adjudicators for the competition were the Director of Nepal Communitere – Bahar Kumar; Director of Chartered Hotels – Varun Saraf, Director, CEO of Young Innovations – Bibhushan Bista, and the MD of Blitz Media – Juna Mathema.
Various boot camps on entrepreneurship were organized by YSBC Nepal across Nepal including Biratnagar, Birgunj, Dhangadi, Nepalgunj, Dailekh, Janakpur, Pokhara, Kohalpur, and Chitwan with the total participation of 406 youths.The competition was organized with the aim of promoting the social entrepreneurship in a collaboration Daraz, King’s College, Nobel College, Himalayan Climate Initiative, Rural Access Program- Connect, Nepal Communitere, Travellers’ Map, Clock B Innovation, SEA Centre, Rural Development Initiative, Thrive Nepal, R & D Innovation, Blinc Venture, and OYORIASIA .
