18 year old Rishi Kr. Gupta from Kapilvastu is an energetic and creative innovator who has successfully made many machines and helped middle class  farmers of his hometown. He has been involved with various projects and thinks different machines can help solve different important problems.

    His Journey

Rishi has been tinkering with machines since a very young age. When he was only in grade 5, he made a small mobile phone charger all by himself.  His curiosity enhanced him as an innovator and he kept on experimenting with different ideas. In grade 9, he successfully made a smart city model which was capable of generating electricity through earth magnet. Furthermore, he made a water level indicator while in grade 8 which could be immensely helpful to people. A self taught learner, Rishi, is as hardworking as he is creative.

Recently, he made an affordable egg incubator which has the of 120-150 eggs and costs Rs 1000 which has the market price of Rs.5000. Rishi’s eccentric yet creative ideas have also been awarded and recognised by many organisations. For instance, his incubator was a silver medal winning idea in 3rd Nepal Youth Science Summit which was organised by Brainycube, a global research organisation.

He dreams of making farmers’ lives easier as they are the marginalized ones despite their immense hard work. “The egg incubator I just made is an affordable version of the expensive incubator. This machine can help farmers of Nepal save cost and earn more,” said Rishi. His main goal is to increase productivity of the farmers by reducing their cost.

He is also working on making a machine which can grow plants without soil by using the technique of hydrobone. He will complete this project by next October.

He is currently involved with the Brainycube research organization and a social organisation called Confidence nepal.

“I have also faced many difficulties in my journey as an innovator. We don’t usually get the necessary equipment in Nepal. I had to shop online for the equipment which cost me more,” said Rishi when asked about the hurdles he faced.

Glocal Teen Hero and his future plans

Rishi was pleased to hear about the platform of GTH which he thinks can help innovators like him grow massively. His colleagues from Confidence Nepal told him about the platform and he applied hoping to learn and grow more.

Academically, Rishi wants to pursue Medicine or Agriculture and hopes to help people accordingly. In the future, He wants to work on large scaled projects which can improve people’s living standard substantially.
