Rising Temperature Hitting Public Life Hard In Terai

June 7, 2015: The Rising temperature since last few days has adversely affected daily public life of Terai along with heat wave or loo. The average temperature in Bara, Parsa and Rautahat has been recorded between 41 to 43 degree Celsius in the past few days.

According to Paediatrician Dr Shyam Sundar Das, at the Narayani Sub-regional Hospital in Birgunj, hospitals have been receiving increasing number of people coming for treatment of summer-related diseases and the Viral fever, jaundice as well as heat stroke have been reported to be on the rise. The main targets of the diseases are the children and the elderly people.

similarly, the hospital is currently received 40 to 50 people every day coming for treatment of heat-borne ailments. It is said that life in Bara, Parsa and Rautahat in the central Tarai has been come to a standstill, with people being forced to stay indoors specially during the day.

Likewise, the government offices have reported very few number of service recipients while schools and colleges have been running classes in the morning.
