Pyuthan, Aug. 2: The quality of road to Swargadwari temple, remains unchanged though a large amount of budget was allocated by the District Development Committee (DDC) for road maintenance every year. The Pyuthan DDC opened a new track to reach the temple but the Road Division Office started construction before the DDC upgraded the road. The Office spent only Rs 15 million from Rs 36 million allocated in the last fiscal year when authorities concerned failed to make right use of the budget, said Ishwari Regmi, who was former chairman of the Road Users’ Committee. Regmi claimed that the road has still remained rough and muddy after the Office failed to make the right use of budget allocated for the upgrade of the road. However, Engineer of the Road Division Office, Pyuthan, said there were no weaknesses as reported but it has been difficult to upgrade as the planning itself was a faulty one. The Office has been constructing three kms road from different places to improve the road condition, said another Engineer Suresh Neupane. Similarly, the blacktopped two-kilometer road to link Swargadwari with the Holeri of Rolpa district has begun to crumble before the task was completed.
