Rolpa implements micro development program to bring economic prosperity

Rolpa, February 11, 2018: In order to achieve the aim of poverty alleviation program, The Human Rights Awareness Centre (HURAC), Rolpa has implemented a micro enterprise development program in Rolpa district. The program is being implemented with the financial aid and assistance of Industry Development Section under Rolpa municipal government.

Binod Rijal, the programme coordinator, indicated that the program is set to be implemented in Rolpa Municipality and various other rural municipalities like Subarnawati, Langri, Sun Chhahari, Rundigadhi, Madi, Pariwartan, and Sukidaha.

Ghanshyam Acharya, the president of HURAC Rolpa, mentioned “The strategic plan is to promote the establishment of small, cottage, micro and big enterprises by utilizing local skills and resources. The programme also aims to increase the contribution of the industrial sector to the GDP through enhanced industrial output.” Furthermore, he said that contributing national economy through employment growth, export promotion, and import substitution by promoting and expanding the industries was the main objective of the programme.

Along with this implementation, various skill development training are being conducted at the selected places. This training program aims to bring out the commencement of enterprises and improving the businesses in the areas. The training communes tailoring, making bamboo wares, weaving shawls and bags, poultry keeping, pig farming, mushroom farming and vegetable cultivation as major objectives for commercial purposes.

According to the mandatory rule of the training, 70 percent of the participants should be women. The trainees will be selected on the ratio of 30 percent from the Dalit community, 40 percent from the indigenous nationalities and 30 percent from other communities.
