Jhapa, 20 March, 2015 : Nepal imported vegetables worth around Rs 270 million whereas the export stood at only Rs 44 million in the fiscal year 2013/014.
Nepal imported 19,750 metric tonnes of green vegetables from India and exported only 5,508 metric tonnes in the fiscal year 2013/014. The import is more than three folds as compared to the export.
According to a report received from Regional Plant Quarantine Office, Kakadbhitta, Nepal supplies cabbage and cauliflower to India and imports other greens from India through the Kakadbhitta transit point in the East.
