Kathmandu,3 Dec 014: The State Affairs Committee (SAC) under the Legislature-Parliament has today directed the Minister for General Administration, Lalbabu Pandit, to submit the details of government officials holding DV, PR and Green Card within three days.
During today’s meeting of the Committee convened to hold clause-wise discussion on the Bill-2071, formulated to amend the Civil Service Act-2049, Committee Chairman Dil Bahadur Gharti proposed this while all committee members approved it unanimously.
DV, PR and Green Card holding officials should have to submit their details within a month if the Bill is approved and there is a provision that one of the facilities of such employees would be scrapped.
Stating that the Bill was brought to make the civil servants accountable and responsible, Minister Pandit urged the committee to approve the Bill as soon as possible.
Responding to queries of committee members, Minister Pandit said that the Bill would make the civil servants responsible towards people and the state.
There would be development of specialist service in bureaucracy by doing away with the provision of transfer to another service if the Bill was approved.
