Kathmandu, January 31, 2018: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal inaugurated South Asian Federation of Accountants Conference on Tuesday, January 30 at Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Kathmandu. ICAN organized the conference on the occasion of its 21st anniversary.
The theme of the conference is ‘Evolving Economic Environment- Challenges and Way Forward’. It includes sessions on accounting and fiduciary risk management, transparency and managerial skills. Events such as the distribution of SAFA Best Presented Annual Report Awards, SAARC Anniversary for Corporate Governance Disclosures Ceremony, distribution of SAFA award, ICAN’s 21st anniversary program and cultural programs are also scheduled for the conference.
150 foreign delegates and over 300 national delegates including CFOs, managers, consultants, and professionals are among the attendees in the conference. Account professionals of member countries will present their working papers.
In inauguration speech, ICAN President Prakash Jung Thapa mentioned that the seminar will be useful in producing competent human resource in the country who would be capable of contributing in maintaining fiscal good governance and modelling economic transparency and accountability.
Likewise, SAFA Chairperson Dr.Subodh Karna stated that the event is the great platform for the exchange of knowledge and skills in accountancy. He added that the skills will be vital to upgrade professionalism among the account professionals of the SAARC countries.
The conference will run till 1st of February, 2018.
