Saptari, 18 December 2105: All the health facilities operated in Saptari district including Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital have come to resumption from today. The health institutions here have remained closed for the past 26 days.
An all-side meet held at the zonal hospital on Thursday evening made a three-point agreement paving the way for resuming health services in the district. Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhatta informed that they reached an agreement to put off all programmes of protest and bring back all health workers including doctors to work to render services to the public.
CDO Bhatta shared in the meeting that Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office Narayan Prasad Chimoriya who was found guilty in opening fire on the premises of the hospital has been transferred from the district and other demands will be gradually addressed.
The health workers agreed to resume their services after the meeting came to a conclusion that the district administration office will approach Home Ministry for providing compensation to those injured in the incident and form an investigation committee headed by regional administrator to probe the incident.
The doctors and health workers of the district had launched protest after shutting all the services excluding emergency in protest of police misbehavior and manhandling to doctors and health workers in the hospitals on November 22, 2015.
