SAY 'NO TO AGITATION' UNTIL THE CONSTITUTION IS DELIVERED: PM

Kathmandu,2 Nov 2014: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has appealed with stakeholders to say ‘No to Agitation’ until the constitution is delivered.

PM Koirala said so after receiving a four-point memorandum from the National Christians Federation at his official residence in Baluwatar today.

The Federation, in its memo, has demanded to incorporate Secularism as an unchangeable Article in the new constitution.

The four-point demand also calls for attention of the government to arrange the cremation ground in all the districts of the country, including the capital, where the Christian could bury their dead ones.

The Secretary General of the federation, CB Gahatraj, on the occasion, underscored the need of the earliest implementation of the three-point Agreement between the federation and the then government on May 1, 2011.

Gahatraj said, “We have no choice but to run a nation-wide agitation programme if the earlier pact and the demands in the recently submitted memo are not implemented by a week.”

In response, Prime Minister Koirala urged the federation not to introduce any agitation programme until the constitution is delivered.
