Scholarship for differently abled students


Khotang, July 29, 2018: Jeewan Youwan Seralung Scholarship was awarded to Samjhana Rai who is a differently abled student and Diwas Rai who is a needy student. Kirant Rai Yayokkha awarded both (with the scholarship) at a programme organised by Khotang Rural Municipality, Khotang.

Jeewan Youwan Seralung Scholarship fund of worth 1 lakh was established two years ago by Prashna Raj in the memory of his two beloved sons. He is from the locality of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality.

Samjhana studies in grade 12 at Bhagwati Dinanath Secondary School, Khotang Bazar. People call her the second Jhamak Kumari. He said that the award was specially awarded to Samjhana who is a seventeen-year-old girl because despite having no hands she worked hard writing using her feet.

Along with her, another needy student, Diwas Rai who is also from her locality was granted with the same scholarship.  Diwas studies in grade nine at Bhanu Foundation School. Prashna Raj granted both students with Rs. 5,000 in addition to the educational materials.

Meanwhile, Anjana Rai, chairperson of Kirant Rai Yayokkha Khotang said that the scholarship was awarded to poor and intelligent and needy student annually.
