Scholarship for Sindhupalchok SLC graduates

Kathmandu, July 7, 2016: Helambu Education and Livelihood Partnership (HELP) in partnership with MondoChallenge Foundation, a United Kingdom-based charity, awarded 70 students of western Sindhupalchok including Helambu region with the scholarships.

A ceremony was held in the Capital on Saturday to announce the scholarships.

As many as 250 SLC graduates had applied for the scholarship, according to a statement issued by the HELP. The winners were chosen from the applicants considering their academic background, financial situations and future motivation, the organisation added.

“Resources for the scholarship are raised in the UK and elsewhere through friends, volunteers and our partner charities.”

Both the organisations collectively have been awarding scholarship to needy and deserving students since 2010 and have thus far supported over 250 students.

Lawmakers Gagan Thapa and Rabindra Adhikari, actress Rekha Thapa, TV presenter Dil Bhushan Pathak, youth activist Brabim Kumar among others were present on the occasion.
