Lahan, Nov 5: Schools in Siraha district, which remained closed following the indefinite strike enforced by various Madhesh-centric political parties since 83 days, are likely to open.
An all-sided consensus was recently forged among various political parties, local administration, human rights activists and media persons in the district for the same, according to Dr Man Bahadur Biswakarma, Chief District Officer (CDO), Siraha.
Issuing a statement today, CDO Biswakarma urged all the closed schools in the district to resume their academic activities at the earliest.
The all-sided consensus was reached considering the schools as peace zone.
Millions of students in the district were adversely affected due to the strike waged by the United Democratic Madheshi Front.
Similarly, the District Administration Office, Siraha has appealed to the concerned authority to impose a ban on the sale of alcohol after 9 pm.
