Dolpa,14 Nov 2014: More than 31 schools in different VDCs of upper Dolpa including Chharka, Tinje, Saldang, Bhijer, Phoksundo and Mukot have been closed for six months due to increasing cold.
Of them, one each of secondary, lower secondary level and 29 of primary level.
Tilak Batala, a teacher at Taprija Secondary School, Phoksundo, said all the schools in upper Dolpa have been closed this year too due to increasing cold. The VDCs are 4,045 meters high from sea level.
The schools have been closed from Kartik to Chaitra in view of increasing cold, he added.
The schools are closed for six months as people of upper Dolpa could not live there due to the cold, said Assistant District Education Officer, Samantamani Acharya.
