Second National Speaking Championship Concludes

Kathmandu, March 13, 2018: Empowerment Academy in collaboration with Unlearn Tribe has successfully concluded the second edition of National Speaking Championship (NSC) on March 10, 2018 at Kings College, Kathmandu.

Altogether 126 students participated in the competition. The participants were provided workshops and seminars from the beginning of February.

The first round of the competition comprised of impromptu speech where audience decided on the topic and the speaker expressed their thoughts on the topic after thinking for thirty seconds. The final round was a Pecha Kucha round, a format of presentation originated from Japan which comprise of 20 PowerPoint slides which lasts for 20 seconds. The theme of the presentation was on empathy, letting go and unlearning.

Out of 126 participants only 10 participants were selected for the final round. The finalist were judged both by the audience and the jury.  Randip Tandukar from Kings College grabbed the winning title along with a cash prize of Rs. 75,000 and other gift hampers.

Zaffar Naik, the CEO of First Avocado handed certificates and token of appreciation to the judges, volunteer, supporters and sponsors. The sponsors for the event were Vespa, Job Dynamics.com, Red Bull and Polaroid.

According to the organizers the event was great success and more number of enthusiastic participants are expected to participate in upcoming competitions.
