Butwal, Nov 3: Minister for Industry Som Prasad Pandey has said that the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the only one such zone in the nation, would come into operation within a year.
He clarified that the zone would be brought into operation even by changing the current policy.
Talking in press meet in Butwal today, Minister Pandey informed that the government would formulate laws for the operation of the zone while developing infrastructures and security.
He further said that the entrepreneurs have complained the rate of rent for the zone was high and it would be addressed even by formulating a committee.
Minister Pandey added that the government was positive to provide subsidy to the entrepreneurs who have been hit hard by the general strike and the nation itself was facing various problems due to the general strike and border blockade.
He added that the government was holding discussions with the banks to provide concession in interest.
The Industry Minister added that the government would provide fuel to the industries even by bringing it from other nations.
He clarified that he was against the privatization of the government-owned industries.
