SFCG Nepal to organize Peace video and photography contest

Kathmandu, July 26, 2016: A nation-wide peace video and photography contest is going to be organized to mark the International Peace day.

To be organized by Search for Common Ground (SFCG) Nepal, the competition entitled, ‘Peace on Earth’ seeks to echo the message of collaboration, trust and unity among people to pedestal peace in Nepal.

Photos and videos on the theme ‘peace’ will be judged by a panel comprising of celebrated filmmaker, photographer, media personality, and experts. Two winners will get a chance to intern with celebrated filmmaker and director, Tsering Rhitar Sherpa of Uma, Mukundo, and Kalo Pothi fame. The top 3 winners will also be awarded with gift hampers.

“We are looking for submissions that are creative, backed up with a strong story, and establishes peace as the backbone of development,” says Ayush Joshi, Communications Coordinator, SFCG Nepal.

Special screenings of the 5 minute video, and a photo exhibition of the top 30 entries will be organized in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Janakpur. International films on peacebuilding and conflict transformation will also be screened.

The event is organized by SFCG Nepal in collaboration with Nepal Music Festival, Open Space Nepal, Onion Films, Artudio, blog parter – www.lexlimbu.com, Sparrow SMS, Chhaimale Resort, Thames International College, and Nepal Tourism Board in Pokhara.

The deadline of the contest is 7th September, 2016, and winners of the contest will be announced on 21st September, 2016.
