Kathmandu, May 18, 2016:Â Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that Nepal will be owning ships very soon and bring goods in the country via these ships. He said that ships bearing Nepali flag will sail in the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.
Inaugurating the first meeting of All Nepal Women’s Association (ANWA) National Council here on Tuesday, he mentioned that the country would enter the phase of prosperity and economic growth from the next fiscal year and the budget would open up several paths to development.
Stating that new transit points would be opened for shipping cargo, he said the government would acquire a harbor and would also operate it.
“Nobody can stop the country from moving towards progress now. Nepal would march ahead as a dignified, prosperous and developed country,” said he.
He opined that people would laugh hearing these stuffs. “People are terrified to hear me saying that we would make fast track roads our own and making trains ply in Nepali land itself. But, we are implementing these into action for sure. We are criticized all the time. Many have been amazed seeing the government’s policies and programmes.”
Oli further said that the economic growth rate will rise up to 6.5 percent in the coming fiscal year.
He said employment opportunities would be created from the grassroots level by providing loans for micro- entrepreneurship to take the path of self-dependence and leap ahead towards economic development.
“The budget that we are bringing in will materialize the slogan ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis’,†he further said.
He also pointed out on despite girls’ school enrolment reaching almost cent percent they are not able to continue till higher education because of high drop-out rate. “We all need to act on this to take the issue forward.â€
